Money Rain Slots Review For 2020
- Bonus Round
Money Rain is not your standard slot game. It eschews regular reels and paylines, instead using the Scatter Pays system used in all ITS Money Range games. Gameplay is set against a blue sky and large tree in full bloom, and in place of spinning reels are flipping banknotes. This medium volatility slot has a wide betting range, several special features, and a huge $200,000 jackpot – want to find out how you can win it? Find out what our reviews team had to say…
The graphics are very basic – a blue sky backdrop, a lush green tree, and banknotes as symbols – which is helpful because this medium-volatility game is more complex than your average slot machine. It uses the Scatter Pays system found in all of ITS’s Money range whereby different value banknote symbols feature in a 5x3 grid and the symbols flip rather than spin – similar to scatters.
There are an extraordinary 25,000 ways to win and, because win lines aren’t used, you get rewarded based on how many banknotes of the same value appear on the reels. For a winning combination, you must land five of the same. You play the game with 30 credits, the value of which can be set from 0.01, for a 0.30 stake per spin, to 0.50. There are also six bet levels (1-6). When playing at the maximum credit value and bet level, the maximum wager per spin is 90 credits, with a 94.06% RTP. Strike lucky, and you could be the winner of the 200,000-credit jackpot!
All of the winnings symbols in Money Rain are banknotes of different colors and values, each with a former US president on them. For a payout, you must get five or more on the grid. The highest-paying is the red Roosevelt bill worth 500 credits, followed by the purple Benjamin Franklin bill worth 100 credits, and the lowest-paying is the green George Washington bill worth one credit. It is possible to get 15 x 500, which, with a minimum 30-credit bet, wins you a 7,500-credit return. Other symbols to look out for are the green dollar signs as they can trigger special features, explained further below.
There isn’t a bonus game, however, there are some lucrative features. Look out for the rain effect which sometimes appears when you are ‘spinning’, causing a group of the same note to appear on the reels. You can land a win with a minimum of five notes and, when the spin stops, one or more notes of the same value can increase your win.
Another exciting feature is Money Reel, triggered when you get four or more green dollar signs with a yellow background on the reels. An animation plays and you’ll see the notes land on a spinning 6th reel with a box in the middle. Whichever of the dollar signs land in the box will fly across the reels and replace the spot the dollar signs were. This will guarantee you a win if you start with five or more dollar signs, but you also could land you a win if you start with four dollar signs.
Last but not least is the free spins feature, set to some cheesy ‘80s music. If you land 12 free spins symbols when they randomly appear on the reels, you’ll trigger 50 free spins! This takes place, again, in the 6th reel, which is triggered when you land just three dollar signs anywhere on the reels. When the lower value banknotes disappear from the 6th reel, you will have a better chance of a bigger win. Free spins can be retriggered while playing with more of the free spins symbols.
Although you might not have heard of ITS (Incredible Technologies), the software developer behind Money Rain, it was actually founded in 1985. Originally specializing in creating coin-operated video games, the rising popularity in casino games meant it had to evolve with the times. In 2008, it launched its first collection of gambling options called Magic Touch. And, because we’re all slots fiends here, some worthy ITS slots to check out include Irish Red, Many Fortunes, and Sky Dragons.
It’s not often you will come across a slot which doesn’t have spinning reels and gives you 25,000 betting ways, so our reviews team found ITS’s Money Rain a breath of fresh air. Yes, the graphics are bland, and the soundtrack is better off muted, but those are minor complaints. We particularly liked the unique Scatter Pays system which causes the symbols to flip rather than spin and the elusive 6th reel, where the bonus features take place, provides ample opportunity to boost your payout.
The medium-volatility gameplay and wide betting range make this a slot for everyone and, although the 94.01% RTP is a bit below average, the number of ways to win more than makes up for it. Want to see if you can win the 200,000-coin jackpot? Head to one of our recommended online casinos now…
