There isn’t a damsel in distress or a little boy for that matter that is not fascinated by the heroism of a man in the red suit. No not Santa, but a fireman. Playtech’s Firemen is one of the most loved of all slots available from premiere developer Playtech and with good reason. It provides great graphics, fun bonus features and a wide variety of betting options.
It follows along the traditional game interface offering 5 reel slot with 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines. Fireman is designed with the reels inside of a large building with each individual window representing a reel position. The highest valued symbols are the Fireman himself a young woman, an elderly woman a black cat and a vase of flowers. Lower valued symbols are your traditional 10, J, Q, K and A. The wild symbol is represented by an emergency flashing light and it will substitute anything except for the scatter symbol which is a burning flame.
The burning flame - scatter can land anywhere so as to trigger a feature. This will in turn activate one of three free games. The more positions the fire spreads to the greater your potential wins are. All of the burning scatter symbols become wilds during this feature. The Instant Win feature means that whatever the award is stated on the tin is the awarded cash prize. The lucky Inferno Bonus means that all symbols will turn into flames and you click on them one at a time to reveal cash prizes. You keep going until you find the collect symbol. That is one symbol you hope you do not find until the very last tile is to be revealed.
Basically, Firemen is a pretty basic slot machine, however the interaction, humor in the overall display of rescue makes it a creative way to win big. The average return to player is around 95%.
Firemen is a high energy Playtech developed game that is guaranteed to light your fire with its five reeled action. There are twenty pay lines and fifteen symbols at the main screen. Players can bet as much as one cent all the way up to five dollars per credit. In truth that means it can be a low limit game of only twenty cents all the way up to a high limits category with a bet valued at $100 per spin. Firemen offers the traditional symbols along with specialty symbols typically associated with a Fireman theme. No matter how you spin it players have a chance of suddenly finding themselves in the midst of winning bonuses that can add up real money quickly.
The standard symbols form winning combinations at the active lines. They are made of three, four or five same elements which have to make a solid chain starting from the first left reel necessarily. As usually, only the longest combination at each of the lines is paid.
To calculate an amount of the win, the bet per line is multiplied by the index of formed combination, provided by the table. It can be from x10 to x500 here. Quite frequently, several combinations can be formed by results of the same spin (at different lines). In such cases all credits are summarized.
As a game of chance is not provided by the rules of Firemen, the total amount of the win is automatically withdrawn to the customer’s account. Some symbols work by the special rules. Please read about it and the bonuses below.
The reels in this slot assume the style of a house, with the individual symbols appearing in the many front “windows”. We have never seen this before, but it works and looks great. The symbols include letters and numbers, but the biggest paying ones are cats, a firemen and a woman. The slot itself has a very cartoony feel, but whilst we’re usually dismissive of such a style, it really works on this occasion.
The wild symbol pays the most, but it only 500x, whilst the second highest paying symbol only returns 400x and the third only 300x. This is far from the biggest we have seen and in reality we would expect the highest paying symbol to be 1,000x at the very least.
As far as the gameplay goes, the RTP is decent and feels even better as you play, with the wins coming frequently. Big wins are quite rare, as you would expect from such low paying symbols, but the bonus rounds go some way to making up for that.
